Presentation Night 2007/2008

Leodis F.C held their end of season presentation night in the Leodis Pub after their final league game against Cricketers Arms.

The night went ahead even though the final fixture wasn't played,  due to Cricketers not being able to field 11 players, and being awarded a 1-0 win.

The night was great and all at Leodis F.C would like to thank everyone for their continued support, especially Ernest the Landlord for allowing Leodis F.C to run from his premises, and his son Mark who always puts on a cracking spread whenever the team ask.

THE FIRST AWARD OF THE NIGHT

This award was presented to Big Shaun (The Prawn) Kavanagh who has been our top supporter all season. Shaun has turned up to all home games and has been there before kick off each time to put up our goal nets. This was done off his own back and the lads really appreciate all that he has done, mainly because it saves them a job! Shaun received a trophy for his troubles and £50.00 to take out the Mrs for all the help he has given.

CLUBMAN OF THE YEAR

The club this season were unable to decide upon just one clubman of the year so decided to have two instead. The awards were presented to Paul Scholes & Carl Lodge. Both Paul and Carl have shown there commitment and dedication to Leodis this season and if it weren't for these two doing the football cards after the games we would have had no club funds. So thanks alot guys and keep it going!!

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER 2007/2008

Chris has been a member of Leodis F.C for a few seasons now but has always told us that he was a Striker. This all changed though this season when he was asked to play a game at Right Back. Chris has never looked back since and is now putting up a massive fight to make sure that that position remains his. Well done Chris on a fully deserved award!

TOP GOALSCORER

This award was wrapped up even before the turn of the year. Lee scored 33 goals this season and walked away with the trophy for a 5th consecutive year. Well done Lee! 

MANAGERS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

This years managers player award went to Mark Wilson. Mark has been the most consistent player all season and has really shown some qualities that you wouldn't expect to see in a player so young. A future captain of Leodis F.C we are all sure! Well done Mark!

PLAYERS PLAYER AWARD

This is the most important award presented on the night as it is the award voted for by all the players. This year it was a landslide victory which echoed the thoughts of club manager Jamie Ibbetson. Mark Wilson became only the 3rd player in Leodis F.C history to collect both the Players Player and Managers Player awards in the same season! Well done Mark and more of the same for next season please!

END OF THE SHOW

Finally the presentation was ended by a speech from our club chairman Wayne Sharpe. He congratulated the lads on what has been a very good season and said that he wants more of the same next year. We have all grown together as a team and are now playing some of the best football and he wants it all to continue into next season.

Leodis F.C were formed back in 2002 when a group of lads were bored of just being sat in their local pub on a Saturday watching football results come up on the telly. So after a few crazy ideas being thrown about they decided to form a football team so Leodis F.C was born.

Leodis F.C currently play their football in the Leeds Red Triangle League and have done for the past 5 seasons. Last year they had their highest finish of fourth, narrowly missing out on 3rd on the final game of the season.
